 Delta Mu Delta Honor Society was founded by five professors in the School of Commerce, Finance and Accounts at New York University in 1913. The purpose of Delta Mu Delta is to recognize and reward superior achievement by students of business adminis­tration and to promote higher scholarship in training for business. Since its establishment, membership in Delta Mu Delta has grown to over 67,000 undergraduates, graduates and alumni. A member of The Association of College Honor Societies, Delta Mu Delta is governed by the National Chapter, which consists of the Executive Council and a Faculty Advisor from each local chapter. Meetings are held triennially and any member in good standing may attend.   

  Delta Upsilon chapter at Philadelphia University was chartered in 1986 as part of the National Honors Society.  To be eligible for induction into the Upsilon Chapter of Delta Mu Delta students must be seeking a baccalaureate or masters degree in business administration, have completed at least half of their program requirements and be in the top 20 % or their class. Undergraduates must have at least 45 credits in residency. 

Early each spring eligible students receive a formal invitation to join the society.
Formal induction of new members for 2008 will occur in April 2008 at time to be announced

  The insignia of Delta Mu Delta, seen at our masthead, is a Gold Key in the form of the Greek letter Delta, on which appears a full-rigged ship with sails set and colors flying, symbolizing the activity of business; below the ship are the Greek letters ΔMΔ which stand for Dia Mathessos Dynamis: Through Knowledge, Power.
