Listed below are some tips on how to improve or maintain an aspired GPA. The first set are general life tips. For those who are thinking "what right do I have to tell you what to do with your life?", these are just pieces of advice. The second set focuses on actual study tips and again are just innocent pieces of advice.

General Life Tips
1-Relax
In the words of the great philosopher Arnold Schwarzenegger, "Relax, you live longer". Don't work yourself up, even over major things. Take everything in stride; meaning don't overwhelm yourself. And when you are becoming stressed, take long, slow, deep breaths in through your nose and out your mouth. It sounds cliche but very therapeutic.
2-Sleep
Although seemingly impossible for everyone, attempt 8 hours of sleep a day. It doesn't have to be all at once (however ideal), but in that case take frequent naps that add up to 8 hours. Insomnia is the leading cause of depression, so make yourself happy by getting some rest.
3-Eat
Overloaded with too much work may make you forget to eat. Three meals a day (or more) with the biggest being breakfast will increase metabolism and health. All of your homeostatic activities come from food intake and is literally the essence of life.
4-Exercise
Don't read this and immediately sign up for boot camp! Exercising does not necessarily mean running 5 miles while simultaneously benching 500 pounds (good luck). What is meant by exercise is take a walk in the park, do some calisthenics, stretch, try out the gym. If you prefer to extrenuate yourself, then by all means do so.
5-Attitude
Practice being happy because happiness doesn't necessarily come naturally. Hardships happen that take a toll on everyone, but forcing a smile and a laugh will make things better. Even if its totally fake at first, eventually it will become sincere. And since your attitude effects all you come in contact with then make them feel better.
6-Friendship
Surround yourself with friends. Nothing is more psychologically satisfying by enjoying others company. Don't recluse yourself, meet new people. And when I say meet new people, I don't mean friend request everyone you see on Facebook! Literally go out and talk to those you familiarize yourself with.
7-Reward
Reward yourself when you accomplish something. People say that reaching a goal is its own reward but go one step beyond that and do something extra for thyself. You deserve it.
8-Fun
Have fun. You are in college-the best 4 years of your life. If what you consider to be fun is hanging with friends or playing video games, then do that. Just remember, don't over-indulge because too much of a good thing is a bad thing.
9-Surrounding
Look around yourself at where you live (dorm, house, apartment) and realize that this place is your home. Decorate it with what defines you. Don't live in a depressing, empty shell-at the least put up a poster. If your living at a place long term, then make it a place you look forward to going to.
10-Sacrifice
When living with others or living up to commitments, you must learn sacrifice. Admittedly, not the most aesthetic of the top 10 list, in a long term scenario, your practice of humility will ultimately make your life and everyone's lives around you happier (or at least easier).

General Study Tips
1-Familiarize
You don't necessarily have to "study" your notes to the point of grey hairs. Just reading through them everyday and focusing on the most challenging will make it easier for finding things in your notes (not to mention remembering). It's like this: you're not expected to memorize the dictionary but you are expected to spell correctly (think about it).
2-Notetaking
If organized, structured notes is how you study and learn, then by all means continue that. But if you are anything like me and consider that boring, try this. Color code your notes, use magic markers, use crayons if you dare. Don't always follow the lines of the page, write sideways so you have to actively study later. Change up your writing style every so often (all capitals, cursive, regular, different language if you can). Also, write big so its easier to see.
3-Flashcards
Flashcards are a fast and efficient way for learning material. But like notetaking, get colored flash cards, write in different colors, draw pictures (or at least attempt to). Don't make a bajillion cards-differentiate information that is important.
4-Class
Go to class! And furthermore, actually pay attention! If your professors have magical letters before and after their name, that means that they are smarter than you in that subject so you should probably listen to what they have to say. Try not to text during class either; I know it is an addiction but break it (or at least put it off till after class). Texting or talking during class might not harm you directly but it gives a reason for the professor to dislike you. The great Professor Rostami once told me, "You are damn good student, but you are also jacka**!"
5-Tutoring
If you are struggling, then get help. The Learning and the Advising center is free and offers walk-in hours. Some people are too stubborn to get help and most likely have a struggling grade, but humbling thyself by receiving extra teachings will definitely increase your grade. Another way for extra help is the professor's office hours. They set aside time in their schedule for the purpose of helping their students-take advantage of it.
6-Groups
Isolation when studying works, but can get very lonely. Make study groups with friends so that you can teach each other the material and have a good time doing so. Most understanding comes from teaching, not learning.
7-Senses
Reading over your notes only uses one sense-sight. Utilize the others to get maximum retention. Exercise while studying, record yourself reading your notes and play it back (even while sleeping), burn different flavor incenses when reading different sections (if you can stand it), read your notes while eating, etc. I don't have any advice on developing a sixth sense along with studying but if you have a method that helps then keep it up.
8-Carbohydrates
Scientists don't call carbs "brain food" for nothing. Dendritic and other neuronic cells crave carbs and work excedingly well. If you want to become smarter, then feed your brain with more then just information.
9-Test Taking I
Some big no-no's when test day comes. Don't drink alcohol, drink caffeine, stay up late, or skip a meal the night before. Instead do the opposite: go to bed early, eat a huge breakfast, and drink coffee in the morning if you like. Late night cramming does not help as much as you might think it does.
10-Test Taking II
Upon taking the test-relax, you can get through it. Don't show up inibriated or under another influence, your GPA can't survive it. When confronted with a hard question-skip it and move on; go back to it later. And if for some reason you bomb a test, don't fret too much. There are other things to raise your grade (homework, classwork, quizzes, other tests).
