2008-2009 Student Government Board

Student Body President: Monique Young
Monique is the Chief Executive of the SGA and is responsible for the execution of all decisions of the executive Board.  She ensures effective operation of the SGA and directs the Officers accordingly.
Student Body Vice President: Rachel Tachayapong
Rachel acts as a liaison between all recognized student organizations and the Executive Board.  She organizes and runs President’s Council meetings with the Director of Campus Center and Student Activities.  As well, she assists in the appointment and review of all Vice President Officers and plays a role in the interviewing of candidates.  She also assists with the coordination of the Pulse Awards and SGA sponsored campus-wide events.
Vice President of Operations: Lauren Higbee
Lauren enforces all policies and procedures of the SGA constitution.  She maintains records of all official SGA documents.  She is also in charge of recording and distributing minutes and works in conjunction with the Communications Officer of Information technology to keep them updated on the SGA website.
Vice President of Finances: Jen Fitzgerald
Jen supervises all financial transactions of the SGA.  She keeps accurate records of all of the SGA’s accounts and expends funds as authorized by the executive board budgeting process.  She also prepares semester budgets and bi-monthly hard copy financial reports.
Vice President of Communications: Samantha Aaronson
Samantha’s main duties are to coordinate all SGA communications and marketing efforts in conjunction with all communication officers.  She oversees all SGA elections and develops a comprehensive election plan for each semester in conjunction with all Communication officers.  In addition, she maintains a working relationship with the office of Public Relations.
Vice President of Campus Outreach: John Marshalek
John coordinates all SGA campus outreach efforts in conjunction with all Campus Outreach Officers.  He attends all faculty meetings, and maintains a working relationship with the office of Academic Affairs.
Vice President of Special Events: Janelle Findlator-Goldson
Janelle coordinates all SGA special events and community service efforts in conjunction with the Special Events and Community Service Officers.  As well, she maintains a working relationship with the Director of the Campus Center and Student Activities.
Senior Class President: Courtney Fortenberry
Courtney represents the senior Class by voicing opinions and concerns about the class.  She attends and represents the Senior Class at all Student Life Committee meetings.  Also, she works with the office of Alumni Relations in organizing the fundraising of the Senior Class Gift.  In addition she assists in the planning and execution of annual SGA community service and philapontric events.  Lastly, she maintains a working relationship with the Career Services Center.
Junior Class President: Jeff Sierra
Jeff represents the Junior Class by voicing opinions and concerns about the class.  He attends and represents the Junior Class at all Student Life Committee meetings.  He maintains a working relationship with the Study Abroad and Internship Programs and the Career Services Center. In addition he assists in the planning and execution of annual SGA community service and philapontric events.
Sophomore Class President: Ashley Evans
Ashley represents the Sophomore Class by voicing opinions and concerns about the class.  Also, she assists in the orientation of the freshman class President in his duties.  She maintains a working relationship with the Study Abroad and Internship programs. In addition she assists in the planning and execution of annual SGA community service and philapontric events.
Freshman Class President: TBD in Fall
Communications Officer for Recruitment: Fitumai Madrid
Fitumai supervises the entire voting process for all SGA elected offices in conjunction with the Vice President for Communications.  As well, she coordinates recruitment efforts of all appointed positions.
Communications Officer for Information Technology: Mamadou L. Manneh
Mamadou designs and maintains all facets of the SGA website.  He develops stories and features for the SGA website in conjunction with the Communications officer for Campus Media. He also handles all technology related issues for the SGA.  As well, he maintains a working relationship with the Office of Information Technology.
Communications Officer for Campus Media: Jill Arciero
Jill publicizes all SGA efforts and events to the campus community.  She coordinates a recruitment campaign for the SGA at the beginning of each semester and continually tries to improve the methods of communication on campus.
Campus Outreach Officer for Student Actions: Heather Walton
Heather establishes and provides a communication channel between students, faculty, staff and administration on campus matters.  She works with the Vice President of Campus Outreach on all campus matters and concerns.
Campus Outreach Officer for Academics: Jamie Stabile
Jamie facilitates changes in the curriculum where students feel it is necessary.  She attends all Undergraduate Education Committee meetings.  She acts as a chair of the SGA Academic Issues Committee.
Campus Outreach Officer for Initiatives: Rachel Bills
Rachel develops and implements initiatives which will benefit the campus community.  She operates an interim committee related to each initiative.
Special Events Officer for Annual Events: Allen Dowhie
Allen coordinates and organizes the annual Valentine’s Day Talent show and Spring Gala.  He assists in the planning and implementation of the Pulse Awards Banquet with the Student Body Vice president and the Halloween Carnival for Children with the Community Service Officer.
Special Events Officer for Community Service: Dan Stecz
Dan provides community service opportunities to the executive board.  He maintains a working relationship with the office of community service programs.  As well, he oversees the planning and implementation of the annual Halloween Carnival for Children.
